What is it?
Landscaping in a building contract can mean anything from a basic turf and nature strip to a fully designed garden with paving, retaining walls, planting, irrigation, and outdoor lighting. Most builders include no landscaping in the base price, or only minimal turf to the front yard. Full front and rear landscaping is almost always a separate cost or entirely excluded.

Compare My Build Tip
Even if the builder doesn't include full landscaping, ask whether they can prepare the site for landscaping during construction — levelling the yard, installing irrigation pipes before turf, and running electrical to outdoor areas. These preparations are far cheaper during the build than retrofitting after handover.
