Why I Started Compare My Build

I started Compare My Build because I was a first-time home builder who got completely overwhelmed trying to compare builders properly.
Everyone advertises a "from" price, but that's never the whole story — what one builder includes as standard can be totally different to the next, and the cheapest starting price isn't always the best value once you dig into it.
I did the display home visits, collected the brochures, went through inclusions lists line by line. Keeping track of who included what was honestly a headache, and I kept thinking there had to be an easier way.
So I built one.
Somewhere you could put builders side by side and actually see what each one includes, without doing all the running around yourself.
Along the way I realised something else —
some of the best builders don't even have display homes. It's easy to only look at the ones you see in display villages because they're right in front of you, but there are so many good options beyond that, and I wanted Compare My Build to help people find them too.
Since then the site's grown into more than just comparing inclusions. I've added estate information and Trade Connect, because I want it to be useful for the whole home-building journey — from figuring out where and who to build with, right through to finding the trades you need along the way.
I'm still building on it. Genuinely excited to see where it goes.
